Irene had a thing for cabbage roses for a while in 1986. She did them in yellow, purple, and probably other colors we haven’t found yet. The amount of stuff we still need to get through is unbelievable.

But the purple roses are gorgeous, and she gave that painting to me for my birthday. My husband and I had recently bought a model home, and in the 1999 style, the cabbage roses fit right in with the then stylish purple & green decor. I’m not sure we’ll be selling that painting. I’m not ready to part with it yet, but we will be selling prints later this year.
